In one case, foamy histiocytes were also noted in the sinus of the lymph node. We could not clarified the relationship between the appearance and the number of foamy cells and effectiveness of splenectomy.

We review and classify 234 cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas which were diagnosed in our hospital during past eleven years, according to LSG classification. 74 cases of nodal lymphomas and 160 cases of extra-nodal lymphomas are divided.

Concerning extranodal lymphomas, individual organ shows some characteristics of LSG classification. We make an immunohistochemical study of gastric lymphoproliferative diseases, using immunogold-silver staining method. The result indicates that we must be cautious in diagnosis of gastric non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, particularly small cell type. We also make an immunohistochemical study of Hodgkin's diseases, using several monoclonal antibodies including Ki-1, LeuM1, MT1 and SL-26. The result reveals that Ki-1 and LeuM1 are reliable markers of Hodgkin's cells. Examinations of both Ki-1 and LeuM1 are necessary to diagnosis of Hodgkin's disease.
