Based on our experience of MR imaging using a 1.5 Tesla superconducting magnet (Magnetom H15, Siemens), clinical usefulness of MR imaging in the abdominal and pelvic area was illustratively described. In the abdominal area, its usefulness is now restricted by motion artifacts. It was, however, considered to be useful in the diagnosis of liver tumors and in the staging of renal cancer.
