heir prognosis were analyzed. The subjects were treated at our department between 1985 and 1995. The number of conizations performed for cervical cancer increased from the year of 1983 when the laser knife was introduced and reached 21 in 1995. In that year, 70 percent of cases with carcinoma in situ underwent conization for uterine preservation. After conization pregnancy was observed in 2 cases with severe dysplasia（6.9%）, 15 with carcinoma in situ（18.1%）and 2 with microinvasive carcinoma（66.7%）. Seven recurrent cases underwent hysterectomy and have survived. As for stage I malignant ovarian tumor, 12 of the 48 cases underwent preservative operation and 4 pregnant cases and 3 recurrent cases were observed. Preservative operation for women with malignant gynecologic tumors improves their quality of life as it leaves the possibility of pregnancy and delivery. However, carefull indication and postoperative management are necessary.

easing. The median rates of cancer screening increased slightly from 10.5 in 1985 to 11.9 in 1993. The lowest age group was over 70 year age group with the percentage of screening 3.9% in 1993. Changes in the number of patients, distribution of stage by age, and detection rate of cancer screening were analyzed in patients with cervical cancer in Niigata Prefecture between 1982 and 1993. The age group with the largest number of patients with CIS changed from 40～49 years age group to 30～39 year age group during this period. The number of patients in 20～29 year age group also increased. Patients with invasive cancer at age of 70 years or above showed the highest frequency（24.5%）and 39.7% of them were in stage III or IV. Opportunities of screening for those aged in 20's and under 70 years should increase to improve its usefulness.

perative diagnosis of those disease has been considered to be difficult. Normal-sized ovary carcinoma syndrome is defined as the discovery,during exploratory laparotomy, of diffuse metastatic disease througthout the abdominal cavity with ovaries of grossly normal appearance. Five cases of this syndrome were reported：malignant peritoneal mesothelioma（one patient）, serous ovarian carcinoma（two patients）, undifferentiated ovarian carcinoma（one patient）, adenocarcinoma of unknown origin（one patient）. And also, seven cases of primary carcinoma of the fallopian tube were studied of clinical and pathologic feature, treatment and outcome. All 12 cases of both disease hase been unable to make the diagnosis before laparotomy. Although cisplatin-based chemotherapy was administered, the prognosis in each case of normal-sized ovary carcinoma syndrome was poor. In this paper, normal-sized ovary carcinoma syndrome and fallopian tube carcinoma have been reported and disscussed.
